Entry Requirements

Undergraduate

STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia)
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Grade B.

Matrikulasi (Matriculation Certificate)
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Grade B.

UEC (Unified Examination Certificate – Senior Middle Level)
At least five subjects with B grades.

SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia)
Students with a minimum of five subjects at Grade C are eligible to apply for the one-year International Foundation Programme at Aberystwyth University.

A Levels / Matriculation Certificate (or equivalent)
Typical offers range between 104–128 UCAS tariff points, depending on the course.

Foundation Programmes
Applicants who have successfully completed a recognised International Foundation Year will be considered.
Applicants with an MQA Foundation Certificate are also eligible.
Those holding an MQA Diploma may be considered for advanced entry (e.g. Year 2), depending on the course.

Credit Transfer
We have a number of credit transfer agreements in Malaysia that allow students to enter directly into Year 2 or 3 of selected degree programmes.

Please note each course may require specific entry grades from the qualifications highlighted above. Some courses may also require an additional portfolio or interview.

English Requirement

You will need to demonstrate your English language proficiency at one of the following levels:

SPM (Malaysia) – Advanced English 1119 (Cambridge O Level 1119): Minimum Grade C (for results prior to 2021)
SPM CEFR (2021 onwards): Overall B2, with a minimum of B2 in each component
Undergraduate Entry: IELTS 6.0 – 6.5 overall, with no component below 5.5
Postgraduate Entry: IELTS 6.0 – 7.5 overall, with no component below 6.0

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Postgraduate)	£2,000 - £3,000 tuition fee discount	Students with an equivalent of a UK First Honours degree will be eligible for a £3,000 discount. Students with an equivalent of a UK Upper Second (2:1) or Lower Second (2:2) degree will receive a £2,000 discount. Students must be self-funded and not receive any other scholarships apart from the International Accommodation Award.
International Accommodation Award (Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate)	International students are eligible to receive inclusive university accommodation for each year of studies. The best things about the University

The University is surrounded by nature and I call the nature element as “Therapy for Study” because it indeed is! That was the very first impression and still is until this very moment. Other best things that I personally feel and experienced is being able to meet and make friends with a lot of other students from many countries. It is exciting to hear not only different accents but also different cultures that we learn from each other here. Also, I truly appreciate the facilities the Uni offers such as the Sports Centre for numerous sports activities like gym, wall climbing, swimming, football and more.

Favourite thing about living in Aberystwyth

The locals are very friendly and warm. Also, the town is clean, well-organised and beautiful. Aberystwyth has a nice seafront for a walk, running, having hot drinks at the cafes and watching the sunset whilst looking at and listening to the seagulls.
